There is No Reason to Panic

The scariness is gone now and changed into holiday cheer. You can hear it in streets and in the stores as another holiday season is upon us. Do not get stressed out and please remember to stop and enjoy them. These are when you spend time with the people that mean the most to you. This is when the so-called miracles show up and everybody wants to be the hero. It can bring pressure from meeting new family members to being able to afford everything your family desires or even needs for the season. The first problem is to admit that if you get stressed out you find some way to relieve it healthily. Remember to express it because we do not need to hold back anything but try to relieve any stress you might be feeling. The weather will get cooler this time of year, but it is just as important that you do not turn cold with it. You do not need to shut down everything, even things that could end up being good for you. Take a minute to think about if this is something you should experience before stating your favorite word no! Are you ready to hibernate like the bears do? Can you stay on top of all your demands and keep your sanity? I like avoiding the drama that can circulate around me. People wonder why I am quiet or feel I am not engaged but I am right there with you. I can see everything and will choose my words carefully. There is no point in feeling bitten by a snake if you can avoid it. I do not need to be a demon hunter, but I can avoid them if I do not want the trouble. It is not up to anyone to tell me that I must be around them, but we all make choose our time wisely. It is a precious resource, and nobody has a demand to take it away from you. The noise can get louder because I am here for its life. You can try to bring in the distractions, but they will not work. I can power through the fear that comes bubbling up and know that powering through will be something that makes things worth it. It is like that movie What About Bob? “Baby Steps.” That was always a great title to feel used and a good explanation of even the littlest movement of progress we continue to make. It is important and leads to better things and better understanding. Terror never needs to phase us, as we stay grounded and lean on what we know. The way we can learn about things, which can help lead us to better choices is something important that should not feel taken granted. Treating yourself kindly is not as easy it sounds and ends up hard for people. When you notice your triggers, notice the speech you give yourself that is not motivating for yourself, then we can start a process of healing.
