What do we look for or have in common with the people we surround ourselves with? Who you surround yourself can also be a way of giving yourself self-care. By having supportive people around, you that want the best for you will help boost your mood. This helps lead to making better choices. When we feel good with the people that surround us this will make us want to spend more time with them as well. You can always be doing more harm to yourself than good if you are staying in a group that does not bring out your best. It may be better to slowly start over and work your way into a group of people that do support you. People seem to move like waves: they are here one minute and the next minute you cannot even see them. Life is all about reciprocity, so if you are not feeling the love that may be your brain telling you to examine the situation. Why is it when I want something to happen it does not happen? Maybe because what I want is not the best thing for me or currently it is not possible to have it. It can also be bringing me to something better of which I cannot even think. What do I want people to think of me? They can think whatever they want about me because it is their freedom to do so. I can never worry about what someone else thinks about me. I know what I have done and what I have not done and that is what is most important to me. When you have a good day, you want to spread it around, because it can be contagious with others. This can be dangerous when you are having a bad mood. Your mood can turn off others and even one person’s mood can bring down a group of people. I used to have bad thoughts from time to time that might bring me down, but now when those thoughts come up, I allow them to happen. I used to fight certain thoughts like I was a boxer, but it became wasted effort. Its important to accept the thoughts we have and move on from them if they serve us no good. Everyone has their own process of life, but no people are more right or correct than the other. Go with your gut instinct when it comes to life I would do. When something feels off or feels too good to be true it is. When I have ignored that feeling, it has burned me. It is a warning sign that something is not right or to proceed with caution. This has made dealing with people easier and understanding who I am. What am I trying to gain? I am trying to gain a greater understanding about life and the situations we go through. I am working this through this but please remember that our past is not our future. Things that happened to us in the past happened AT THAT SPECIFIC TIME for a reason, not because it is meant to be a pattern.
