Halloween Is for the Brave and Dangerous

It is the scariest night of the year! Everyone has costumes and is all scary ready for a fun night and a night where anything seems possible to happen. I always enjoyed Halloween, because as a kid you have the candy, dressing up in costumes, getting to meet a variety of people. It always seemed like a fun night, and it always seemed like the entire world was out with you. As an adult it has a different meaning for me. I enjoy the spooky night, scary movies, parties and have it be more about a celebration than the trick or treating part. The best part will always be the candy to me. Nothing beats having a full bag stocked of candy sounding like a kid again. When I feel like I am sounding like I did when I was a kid, I should celebrate it and be thankful. It is bringing out a part of you from the past for a quick moment to show you it is still there inside you. The darkness can feel heavier on Halloween and can also be more appreciated. We enjoy the part of dressing up as whoever we want and enjoying the night the way we want it to be. After Halloween, comes all the holiday stuff that will feel thrown at us for the next few months. It will help bring us solidarity, peace, and I hope good fortune for everyone. Remember that the best things are sometimes the trivial things and that can play a part in your Halloween experience. I remember once watching horror movies all night, eating the sugar to get the rush, feeling like this was the life. It sounds simple now thinking about it, but then it felt like good times. Was the memory as great as we make it out to be? I wonder about that, as well. Was it really the exact way that we picture it all this time later? Halloween never felt wasted and always felt enjoyed. Some people appeal to it more than the holiday season. Everyone likes a good thrill of excitement and stay on edge in an effective way. The best lessons I got from Halloween was friendship and community from everyone being out in the neighborhood. It is one of those days of the year that has a specific energy to it and not many have that. The best Halloween I ever had was when my mother made me and my brother Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Costumes and we looked to us very realistic. That was the Halloween where I got what I wanted to be, got a loving gift from my mother, got to celebrate that holiday with my family and ended up having a memorable Halloween. You can never tell where life where take you or where you will go. You just need to not stay stuck with your feet on the ground digging in when different things come up. The balance between good and evil may feel different tonight, but it will always be important.
