I think it can be hard for us to get second chances in life, depending on what it is. I do think when you miss an event or person, you can never go back to what you think you had. You always must be moving forward in life and doing that to me seems to mean moving backwards. The momentum must be continuing and in that situation to me it seems like it would be missing or stalled. You can have new opportunities or enjoy new people that might make you feel similar, but remember no job or person is ever the same. They still each have differences that you will notice at some point when you go this is not exactly what I wanted or hoped for. These second chances though can come from us, if we grant our own wish. To me, you know what you were dealing with the first time with these people, so why are you putting yourself through it again? “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” (George Santayana). We need people and the warmth they can bring in. We also need healthy boundaries to make sure only the right people get in and have access to us. When we better understand ourselves, this stuff becomes simpler. When we do not understand ourselves, this may sound like gibberish. The best decision we can make is the one that will help us the most. Feeling mad and taking it out in a healthy way brings you relief. Choosing an activity that makes you happy can give you relief. The way we treat our bodies can relax us and put us in a better mood. We want to feel relaxed, so why are we not doing things that can relax us? Do not punish yourself but respect yourself and give yourself rewards for a job well done. Do not look at the 98% you got on the test but look at what it took for you to get that grade. It is easy to see things one way, but it can be tough to see anything in more than one way. We need to be able to understand that everything will not come today, but something will. Trust in yourself and believe things are going well even if you are not where you want to be. Things could always get worse, so remember where you are today. You think things cannot get worse and then that is the moment they turn. Keep thinking that things will turn in your favor and you are doing enough if you are putting in your time with what you need to be doing. How will you know if you put your time on in valuable ways? When you think about the time that you are putting in, is it on something that makes you happy or makes you feel better about your day? If not, then your time can go somewhere else to something that would end up making you happy.
