Breathing Makes A Difference

Take a deep breath and feel the air outside if you are feeling stressed. Even if you are not feeling stressed go take a nice breath of fresh air. I would feel wound up and let things carry me away or stress me out. The quickest way to coming back to Earth is to just slow down. We can do that through our movements and breathing. I love that our bodies can have full adrenaline, fear knocking at your door, and then if you know yourself you know how to calm down when you get to wound up. Just slow down and take a few breaths of fresh air. Slowing down will help stop you from going too fast or feeling to wound up. This has worked for me over time and so I would be happy to share this with others. Also, I would always advise to get yourself out and walking and focusing on other things. Focusing on other things gives your mind something to relax with and stop you from thinking about the stress that is eating at you. If you are going through stressful moments, then I know they never really go away. These stressful things will last until whatever I was stressed about goes away. I did not like any kind of public speaking in school or University. You would know when your presentation was, but the week before I would be stressed over it every night. The stress would not really go away until after the presentation was over. To give me a break from thinking about the presentation and to relax my stressful habits I tried things out that I felt would help me. I found that breathing, walking/exercising, and keeping my mind focused on others did wonders and gave me a break from the stress. Without doing things to stop my brain from thinking about the so-called attack, I had to do this. At least for some of the time I was able to focus on other things and learned ways for me that worked in coping with my stress. Now from the years of experiencing the stress and anxiety of things I experience, I know my breaking point. I know how much stress and anxiety I can handle, and I now have a way to fix it when it is becoming too much. Now I know that this is impossible, but I cannot stress how important it was for me to be prepared. I had a milkshake today and to me that is something I was taking for granted in life. Having a milkshake felt like a good treat for the day. When I was having it gave me a good feeling and the type of feeling I want to experience as much as possible. To be able to feel great, when going through tough things will be another obstacle to overcome. I want to go from avoiding challenges to embracing them. This is the kind of power I want to have right now.
